Support Worker Position

At Adult & Teen Challenge WA (ATCWA), we are driven by a mission to put Hope In Reach for individuals seeking freedom from the grip of addiction.  If you’re looking to make a real difference in the lives of people struggling with drug, alcohol and other addictions, then this is the role for you!

We are currently seeking both Male and Female Support Workers to join our dedicated team at our rehabilitation centre in Gibson, Western Australia.  As a Support Worker, you will work closely with residents, engaging with them as they progress through their rehabilitation journey and empowering them to lead restored lives

What’s involved?:

Your day-to-day will be varied, rewarding and impactuful:

  • Provide compassionate care and support services to residents in our rehabilitation program.
  • Work alongside residents, offering guidance as they develop and practice new skills for long-term change.
  • Monitor personal care and hygiene of residents, supporting the improvement of life skills.
  • Facilitate recreational games, activities and community involvement.
  • Collaborate with a passionate, live-in, on-site team committed to helping residents succeed.

  • A live-in position with board and lodging provided. The role offers a negotiable 10/4 roster.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a heart for service and a passion for seeing others transformed.
  • Is supportive, caring and genuinely interest in making a difference in people’s lives.
  • Is a dedicated Christian who is able to live out and promote the values of the Christian faith, leading others in alignment with the Christian ethos of ATCWA and supporting individuals in the process of restoration.
  • Is adaptable, forward-thinking, and thrives in a dynamic, team-orientated environment.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and can engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ideally has previous experience in drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs or has worked within not-for-profit or charitable organisations. If not, don’t worry – we’re happy to help you grow into the role.
  • Holds, or is working towards, a Certificate III or IV in Community Services AOD (highly favourable).

Critical success factors:

  • Comfortable in a Christian faith-based environment.
  • Exceptional skills in multi-tasking, managing priorities and demonstrating initiative.
  • Previous experience working in a rehabilitation setting is a significant advantage.
